Here is a beautiful example of Mid-Century Georges Briard Bent Glass in this Harvest 22Karat Gold Square Tray! On milk-white glass, the 22Karat-gold Harvest pattern has a central design of a large crown-shaped bundle of wheat with smaller gold wheat emblems. The 2-inch wide border around the tray is made up of gold-on-gold geometric designs and elaborate medallions. Each design is of 22-karat brushed gold and shiny, reflective gold. A smaller band of gold with windows through to the white glass runs around the inner rim. The Georges Briard signature is in the lower right corner.
The square plate is 9-1/2 inches across the middle and 9-3/4 at the corners. The bent sides raise up about 2-inches off the table.
Made by Georges Briard circa the 1960s, it is signed "Georges Briard" in the lower right corner.
There is an indentation at one corner that likely occurred in the manufacturing process. There are surface scratches and minor wear on the gold consistent with normal use, but these are not significant and do not mar the beauty of this vintage piece. There are no chips or cracks.
