From the Country Fayre Series by Royal Albert Bone China, here is the Devon Teacup and Saucer. The beautiful Chelsea shaped cup is widely fluted and scalloped with narrow ribs around the bottom portion. The lower, ribbed portion of the cup and the center of the saucer are in a solid brown the color of coffee with cream. The bulk of the cup and the rim of the saucer have an attractive motif of fruits and flowers including a large golden pear, snow-capped mushrooms, and clusters of red berries. Sunny yellow flowers with red centers and muted foliage fill out the design. The same motif is repeated on the inner rim of the teacup. The scalloped edges, as well as the foot and the handle of the cup, are all gold-trimmed.
The teacup is 2-7/8 inches tall, and the handle is about another 1/4-inch above the rim. It is 3-5/8 inches in diameter across the top with another inch for the handle and tapers down to stand on a 1-7/8 inch foot. The matching Saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter and about an inch deep.
The mark is a color miniature of the fruit motif followed by "Royal Albert Bone China England" in gray, followed by “Country Fayre Series” in pink and finally “Devon.”
This series was issued by Royal Albert China circa 1977 to 1982.
The remnant of an old price tag is present near the handle. There are no other condition issues.
