A beautiful Art Nouveau style pink morning glory motif forms a garland around this gold rimmed plate by Blakeman & Henderson of Limoges, France. Each flower is exquisitely hand painted in varying shades of pink on trailing green vines with elongated leaves unfurling toward the center of the plate. Then each and every petal, curled leaf, and vine is meticulously lined with gold. The fine porcelain plate has a subtle embossed design resembling a six-petaled flower, and the braided, embossed rim is scalloped to echo the six petals.
This plate measures 8-1/2 inches in diameter.
Made in Limoges, France and decorated by Blakeman & Henderson between the early 1900s and 1920, it is stamped in green under the glaze with the faded “HB Limoges” in a shield. “Blakeman & Henderson Limoges France” is written in green script over the glaze.
There are minimal expected surface scratches and wear on the gold consistent with age. There are no other condition issues.
