This Souvenir of Skyline Drive, Virgina Currier & Ives Plate was decorated on Harker's Gadroon Edge circa the 1950s to 1960s. This lovely plate has a colorful, circular transfer of the Currier & Ives print “A Home in the Wilderness” in the center. The scalloped, rope-edged rim is decorated at each of the four corners with a branch of a trio of white dogwood blossoms with green leaves. The familiar pie-crust edge is finished with gold trim.
Made by Harker Pottery, located on the Ohio River, circa the 1950s to 1960s, the square-shaped plate measures 8-1/2 inches across. There is no back stamp, but the transfer print on the front is titled "A Home in the Wilderness" followed by "Currier & Ives." "Souvenir of Skyline Drive, VA" is printed in gold on the rim of the plate.
There is some sticker residue on the back of the plate. There are also a few dark marks on the back only, caused by wear and one mark is perhaps caused by setting near a burner. There are no other condition issues.
