This pink-rimmed Teacup and Saucer is one of the sweetest Royal Albert Bone China sets due to its center motif of a Multicolor Floral Bouquet tied with a Yellow Ribbon. Numbered 2487, the romantic bouquet decorates the center bottom of the cup and the center of the saucer. The flowers, in blues, yellows, pinks, and purples have orange-red enameled-dot centers and are accented with green leaves. A 1-1/2 inch wide pink rim surrounds the saucer and dominates the inside of the cup. The Avon-shaped cup has a narrow band of gold around the outside, and both the handle and foot are gold trimmed. The scalloped rims of both pieces are also trimmed in gold.
The teacup measures 2-1/2 inches tall and 3-3/4 inches in diameter across the subtly scalloped rim, with another inch for the handle. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch foot. The matching saucer is 5-1/2 inches in diameter, and about 1-inch deep.
Made by Royal Albert China circa the 1930s to1945, both pieces are stamped in gray with a a double-lobed crown followed by the words “Royal Albert, Bone China (underlined,) England.”
There is a pinpoint white spot in the pink in the cup, undoubtedly caused by a glaze pop. There are also a couple of light utensil marks on the back of the saucer. There are no other condition issues.
