Exquisite Paragon Bone China is offered here in this small Pedestal Bowl Commemorative of the 1959 Royal Visit to Canada. Large, detailed gold filigree flowers and maple leaves encircle the inside of the embossed bowl on a soft, mint green background. The center of the bowl has the Royal Coat of Arms in full color with "E&P" in the center for H.M. Queen Elizabeth and H.R.H. Prince Philip. A blue banner at the bottom reads "Canada" followed by 1959. The pedestal is also in mint green, and the foot, the circular center, and the top and bottom of the bowl are all trimmed in gold.
This compote was created to commemorate the Royal Visit to Canada for the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1959.
This beautiful souvenir compote measures 2-1/2 inches tall and 4-1/2 inches in diameter at the rim. It stands on a 2-1/4-inch foot.
The backstamp in black shows the lion and unicorn Royal Arms and reads: "By Appointment To Her Majesty The Queen, China Potters, Paragon, Fine Bone China, England Regd."
Other than expected signs of normal wear on the underside of the foot, there are no condition issues.
