Here is a pair of bread-and-butter plates in the Violets pattern by Syracuse China. Designed on the Federal shape with its softly pleated rim, bunches of deep blue-purple violets decorate each plate. On Syracuse's signature Ivory background, the enchanting violet blossoms reach and bend over greenery with small yellow accents. The scalloped rim is edged in gold.
Each fine china plate measures 6-1/2 inches in diameter.
Each is marked in pink "Federal Shape" in a cartouche with stars, followed by "Syracuse China, Made in America." The Federal shape was introduced in 1938, and the Violets pattern was discontinued by 1966.
As in most vintage pieces, there are small surface scratches consistent with normal use and minimal wear on the gold. There are no chips or cracks.
The price includes both plates. I'm so happy you stopped in to Maggie Belle's Memories! Please "Like" us on Facebook for updates and fun information!
