Here is a set of two sunny yellow cup and saucer sets in the Rhythm pattern by Homer Laughlin. Rhythm is a sturdy, wide circular design with a solid color finish. The finish on these cups and saucers is a high gloss, deep golden yellow the color of the yolk of fresh eggs.
Each cup measures 2-1/8 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter with another 1-1/8 inches for the handle. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch shallow foot. The matching saucer is 6 inches in diameter.
The saucers are marked in Green underglaze "Rhythm" in script, "by Homer Laughlin USA ®" followed by a code indicating the place and date of manufacture. "E 55 N 4" is on one, and the other saucer has "D 55 N G." The cups are not marked.
This pattern was made by Homer Laughlin during the 1950s and discontinued in 1960. The backstamp indicates these sets were made in 1955.
Consistent with use, each cup has a negligible small chip on the underside of the foot that does not affect stability. There are no other condition issues.
