Here are the irresistible Dresden Flowers of the Chateau pattern by Schumann, Bavaria, Germany in another small nut dish. This one is marked with the orange Schumann Crown and Shield backstamp, followed by the words "Schumann/Bavaria/Germany/US Zone" and the pattern name "Chateau." There is also a pattern number "16." This mark was used by Schumann between 1946 and 1949 after World War II.
No detail is missed on this dainty little bowl. The Chateau pattern has a central multicolor bouquet of Dresden flowers here featuring a large lavender tulip, burgundy pink roses, and a bright yellow and orange blossom surrounded by smaller flowers in purples, blues, yellows, and greens. The scalloped rim is decorated with embossed lattice work trimmed with tiny flowers adorning every line and intersection in gorgeous detail. These lattice panels alternate with larger multicolor flowers painted on the embossed rim. Gold drapes and cornucopias frame each intricate panel, and the center, border, and rim are also ringed with gold.
This sweet nut dish measures 4 inches in diameter and 1-1/8 inch deep. Aside from minimal wear on the gold, there are no condition issues.
