Offered for your consideration is this Mason's Vista Ironstone Red to Pink Transfer Ware Square Creamer. The Vista pattern, here in shades of pink to red, features an elaborate transfer castle motif that wraps around both the front and the back of the creamer. The design depicts a family on the steps in the foreground within a framework of trees. The top border is a circle of leaves. The interestingly curled handle is also trimmed with the leaf motif.
Though the color is referenced as pink, the transfer is more truly in shades of red. This small square creamer measures 3-3/4 inches tall and 2-1/2 inches square at its widest, tapering slightly to the top. The handle adds an additional 1-1/4 inches.
The backstamp features a Red crown with "Mason's" arched above and "Vista England" below the crown.
This mark was used by Mason's circa the 1930s.
There is fine, all-over, non-discolored crazing. The dirt spot on the handle has been cleaned, but there is still a barely visible stubborn stain near the rim on the right side. It has been cleaned and is much lighter and smaller than shown in the photo. There are no chips or cracks.
