Each of these Knowles Columbia fruit bowls is decorated with a pastel multicolor design of several types of summer flowers, dominated by a beguiling deep pink rose on vivid green leaves. The design rims each bowl with three flower arrangements in descending sizes. The scalloped edge is trimmed in gold. The backstamp is the black underglaze Edwin Knowles Urn Mark. The words "Semi Vitreous" are inside the urn, followed by Edwin M. Knowles China Co. Made in U.S.A. 46 12." Knowles stopped using this backstamp in 1948, and matching pieces I have listed bear a backstamp that was introduced in 1953, indicating this beloved pattern spanned at least two decades. Each Semi-Vitreous China bowl measures 5-1/4 inches in diameter and 1-1/4 inches deep.
Each bowl is heavily crazed and one bowl has a small chip on the underside of the rim that does not show from the top. The price is for all six bowls together.
