This sunny yellow wild flower "Golden Star" vintage USA Oval Platter from Stetson dates to the 1940's. The Golden Star pattern consists of a five-pointed, golden yellow, hand painted flower, rich brown stems, and 1, 2, and 3-pointed forest green leaves. This pattern is virtually the same as Golden Jasmine by Stetson.
This off-white serving platter measures 11-3/8 inches long by 8-1/2 inches wide.
It is stamped in green underglaze with a 5-pointed star with the name "Golden Star" on the corner of a rectangular box surrounding the description "One of the rarest and most beautiful of nature's wild flowers is said to flourish only in a land blessed with sunshine and happiness...and that it brings good luck to all lovers of its beauty." The Golden Jasmine pattern bears identical wording, and Joni's Dixie Dogwood bears a similar descriptive mark.
This platter has only expected surface scratches consistent with age and no other damage.
