Featuring St. John's Episcopal Church in AuSable-Oscoda, Michigan - this plate was made by Homer Laughlin and decorated by Preston-Hopkinson Company. Varying from the line drawing style of other church plates listed, a photograph of the church has been transferred onto this plate. The ivory, wide-rimmed plate features a photograph of the church in gray and sepia tones, and the words "St. John's Episcopal Church, AuSable-Oscoda, Michigan, 1912-1966." There is a band of thin gold trim on both the inside and outside edge of the rim.
This commemorative plate measures 10 inches in diameter. The backstamp, in black underglaze, has the HL monogram mark, and "Homer Laughlin, Made in U.S.A." The date (1960-something) is obscured by "Preston-Hopkinson Co., Appomattox, Virginia, For Decorative Use Only" stamped in gold over the glaze which completes the identification. Other than some surface scratches and some very minor wear on the gold trim, it is in good condition. Thank you for your interest! Please visit Maggie Belle's again soon!
