This lovely Mint Green Teacup and Saucer by Clarence Bone China, Longton, England, with its Purple and Yellow Flowers is a breath of spring! This scalloped and slightly four-lobed teacup and the matching scalloped saucer are each decorated with floral bouquets of yellow and purple flowers on a pale, mint green background. The cup has the life-like flowers with appropriate greenery on both the front and the back, and the saucer has matching bunches of blossoms in three places around the rim. The raised foot of the cup is gilded, and gold trims the handle, the cup ring of the saucer, and the rims of both pieces. A narrow gold band rings the inside of the cup as well. The pattern is numbered 330/51L.
This pretty teacup measures 3-inches tall, and 3-1/2 inches in diameter across the top, 4-1/4 inches with the handle. It stands on a 1-3/4 inch diameter foot. The matching saucer is 5-3/4 inches in diameter and about an inch deep.
The back stamp is a shield that reads "Clarence Bone China, Made in England." This mark was used on Clarence Bone China, a division of Co-operative Wholesalers, Longton, England, during the 1950s through the early 1960s. The pattern number "330/51L" is hand painted in gold on the cup.
Other than minor wear on the gold rim consistent with use, there are no condition issues.
