Finished in monochromatic red-brown glaze, the front of this advertising ashtray depicts a seated. long-haired, potter working a pot or vase at his potters' wheel. A large, embossed crown is at the potter's feet, and the company name, "Robinson-Ransbottom-Pottery-Co. Roseville, Ohio," encircles the front of the piece. The pie-crust rim has four equidistant cigarette rests.

This great advertising piece measures 5-5/8 inches in diameter and the rim is about 1-inch deep.

It is marked in raised relief on the front "Robinson-Ransbottom-Pottery-Co. Roseville, Ohio." The back is unmarked.

There is a tiny spot at the front of the potter's right knee that may be a nick, but is more likely a glaze slip. There are no other condition issues.
