This miniature woven porcelain basket was made in Germany circa the early 1900s. The strands of the open weave basket form lattice-patterned sides and are twisted together to form a rope-like edge at the top and bottom. The rope edging also arches up and over to form the two open handles. The top edge and the handles are gold trimmed. The solid bottom of the basket is painted with a multi-color bouquet of dresden flowers.
This charming little basket measures 3-inches long by 2-inches wide by 1-inch tall.
It is stamped with a circular "Made In Germany" mark in gold and has no other identification.
The gold trim on the rim and handles shows minor wear. The sides of the basket are slightly asymmetrical, a good indication that it was handmade. There are no other condition issues.
