This pair of MZ Austria Salt and Pepper Shakers is hand painted with blue forget-me-nots and wispy green leaves backing small white flowers with orange-red centers.
Made by Moritz Zdekaver, Austria, (MZ) circa the 1900 to 1920's, each porcelain shaker measures 2 inches in diameter and 2-3/4 inches tall.
Each is marked in green underglaze with a double eagle with wings fanned and a small crown. The letters "M.Z." are above the eagles, with "Austria" below. There are no corks.
The only flaw is a very small roughness on the foot of one shaker that does not affect appearance or stability.
