This Jaeger & Co. Bavaria Hand Painted Luncheon Plate features a delicate, pale blue-green rim defined by a slender green vine with clusters of pink and white flowers, resembling camellias. Accented with pale green foliage, there are three trios of pink blossoms with sunny yellow centers, and smaller white blossoms and pink flower buds are evenly interspersed between the pink sprays.
From Jaeger & Co. sometime between 1898 and 1923 this romantic porcelain plate measures 7-5/8 inches in diameter. It bears the green underglaze J&C Bavaria crossed cloverleaf mark of Jaeger and Company from that time period.
With expected minor surface scratches, there is also the slightest of dips in the edge of the plate that I believe was a factory error, since there is no absence of finish nor roughness. One of the photos shows how slight this imperfection is.
