Shipping, Handling, Insurance Policy

I am shipping from England or France and although I ship within 24 hours of purchase whenever possible, it can take a little time to reach the US, and other international destinations particularly now that enhanced procedures are utilised by the customs offices.. My $6 international shipping rate (for under 100g) is via Royal Mail or La Poste without tracking and is only insured up to £20 ($25). This can be upgraded to international tracked and signed as a service for an additional $8. This is listed on the invoice as insurance because there is compensation up to the value of £250 for loss or damage. Both services take at least 7 to 10 days to reach destinations overseas. International orders (we are based in the U.K.) are often delayed due to customs inspection of the documents on the packages. The situation hopefully will change in the future. For now, assume at least 3 to 4 weeks delay if you have not received an order within 10 working days. Items over $30 in value are automatically shipped tracked and signed. The additional premium is added to the Insurance option. For items under $30, you do have the option of declining insurance. Your order will then be sent by regular airmail with a maximum compensation of $25. You will be responsible for the items if they are lost or damaged. I can add a courier service, I usually use FedEx as it is so efficient.. This does not, however, pick up over the weekend, so sometimes the process will take longer than stated. All my purchases are shipped in simple new boxes in padded envelopes to ensure safe arrival. For UK domestic purchases, the standard postage is £4 (for under 100g) with compensation by the post office of up to £20. For an additional £1, the insurance is increased to £50. Higher value items can be sent by the Next Day Delivery Service which offers adequate compensation for all items. I have therefore utilised the appropriate service for my listings according to the value of the items.
