Description: This very elegant nut spoon is the "Louis XV" pattern by Whiting Silver Co. The gold washed bowl has a beautiful scrolled pierced motif with a scalloped edge. The handle also has a scrolled edge (front & back) with a crowned top. The handle is monogrammed with an old English "L".
Period: Victorian (1837 - 1901), this spoon is circa 1900.
Hallmarks: The Whiting hallmark, STERLING, PAT 91
Information/History: White Silver Co, Attleboro, MA, was established in 1866 and purchased by Gorham Silver in 1905 and made silver under the Whiting brand until it was discontinued in 1926. The Louis XV pattern was first produced in 1891.
Measurements/Size: 4 1/2" long, the bowl width is 2". The spoon weighs 15.99 grams.
