Description: This wonderful cobalt blue on white underglaze rolling pin is in the Meissen-style, with the Blue Onion pattern. These were manufactured by different porcelain factories thorough out Europe but were mostly done in Germany. This rolling pin is heavy and was well loved and used, and is still VERY usable today! Whether a collector of Blue Onion, blue and white or looking for a usable rolling pin for your kitchen, this will make a great addition. Period: Victorian (1837 -1901), this rolling pin is circa 1890s.
Hallmarks: Impressed on the end, "2240" and "kCe", unable to identify the manufacturer but feel certain it is German.
Measurements/Size: Overall length is 14 1/2" (the rolling pin without handles is 7 3/4") x 2 3/4" wide.
Condition: Good, wear on all edges, two (2) chips on one end, and scratch marks on the roller, handles have either been replaced or painted. Still in useable condition.
