Description: The intense color of this flow blue platter is the Athens pattern by William Adam and Sons (1819 - present). With the beautiful scene of classical buildings, a central fountain and lake with swans. The border also has classical buildings and a floral and scroll motif. These are such little works of art!
Period: Victorian (1837 - 1901), this platter is circa 1860.
Hallmarks: No. 56978, ATHENS, W. ADAMS & SONS, it has the register mark for January 1, 1849 (When the pattern was registered).
Measurements/Size: 13 1/2" wide x 10 1/4" high x 1 1/4" deep.
Very good - No chips or cracks, typical wear to edges and bottom, some very minute pitting in center of platter.
