Silver Antique Swedish Silver Pierced Serving Spoon Or Sugar Sifter With Elegant Shell Shaped Bowl. This handsome pierced server has a pattern that looks like it was derived by combining Kirk's Kings pattern of 1825, and Gorham's Kings II pattern of 1885. The server measures approximately 8 1/2" long, and the widest part of the elegant shell bowl is 2 7/8" across. Like English silversmiths, Swedish silversmiths were precise in their marking. The back of the handle is marked: "C W " for the silversmith, "Three Crowns" indicating .830 silver purity, "a crowned head" indicating Stockholm, and "K 6" indicating a date of 1888. On the front of the handle is a small oval cartouche with the script initials "A T S ". The server is in like-new condition, and could be used as a slotted spoon or a sugar sifter.
