9 ½” Teplitz Amphora High Glaze Porcelain Vase
This circa 1900 Art Nouveau porcelain vase by Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel has an organic floral motif. It is decorated with a floral design of painted gladiolas with their leaves and petals accented in gilt. The two vertical ribs, shoulder and the mouth of the vase are highlighted with a gilt accent. The blue to green ground is the perfect canvas for the gladiolas. The vase has 2 1/4” by 3 ½” rim opening and it is 5 ¾” wide with a 4” diameter base.
The bottom of this beautiful vase bears the RStK burnt in mark reading "RStK TURN Teplitz Bohemia" with the designation "Made in Austria" along with a circled "Amphora" and an impressed circled “Austria”. There are also impressed numbers reading "584" and “5”. The vase is in overall very good to excellent condition with no flakes, chips, cracks or hairlines. There is some minor wear of the gilt on surfaces edges consistent with its age.
