A beautiful art deco case with a mint green guilloché enamel front. The rear has been machine worked. A gold wash was applied to the interior. Made by William Neale Ltd, Birmingham in 1933 ( see the year date mark 'J ' ). The anchor stamp is for Birmingham and the lion passant for sterling silver. The front green side is very impressive with swirly waves emanating from a semi circle in the bottom left hand corner.
Size : 8 cm. ( 3 5/32" ) x 5.5 cm. ( 2 2 11/64" ), with a depth of 1 cm. ( 0 25/64" ).
Weight : 74.6 g. ( 2.63 ounces ).
Condition : very good - some minute signs of everyday use. The elastic bands are missing.
