A delightful hand carved Black Forest bear mounted on an open glass salt and pepper set, early 1900s. The bear , of a hard wood, obviously carved, in great detail , by a Black Forest craftsman. A delightful item for the dining table perhaps or for the display cabinet.

Size : overall width of the piece : 9.5 cm. ( 3 47/64" ) and height : 9.7 cm. ( 3 13/16" ).

Re the bear : height : 8 cm. ( 3 5/32" ), width : 3 cm. ( 1 3/16" ).

Each condiment has a diameter of 3 cm. ( 1 3/16" ).

Overall weight : 95 g. ( 3.3 ounces ).

Condition : overall good, note , the bear's right hand ear was once damaged and later repaired - to the human eye - not off putting really - the digital camera highlights every minute detail. The screw connecting the bear to the glass is not the original one !
