A large vintage Italian 800 standard silver oval two handled tray, Argenteria Vicentina, Viale Grappa, Vicenza, 1960 c.
Applied with tongue and dart and beaded borders, the handles formed of scrolls and lobing. Vicenza ( " VI" ) is a city in northeastern Italy. It is in the Veneto region at the northern base of the Monte Berico, where it straddles the Bacchiglione River. Vicenza is approximately 60 kilometres west of Venice and 200 kilometres east of Milan. Vicenza has been an important centre of Italy's gold and silver industry for centuries.

This has post 1944 Italian marks and these silversmiths were in production from 1957 and into the 1970's. The quality of the detail to the borders and handles is very nice indeed.
Condition : very good - note, there are some very fine signs of usage - please see the bottom photograph - with the naked eye they are not , we believe, a problem at all but this digital camera highlights them far too well ! Please note that the tray sometimes reflects the white background material!
