A very attractive piece of vintage Parisian jewellery from the 1980s from the house of Edouard Rambaud, Paris - with a fish motif in gold tone. Each ' fish' stamped by the factory.
This is a really simple but very striking and typical Rambaud gold tone necklace. His designs are often figural and whimsical as well as quite ornate in some cases. They are gold plated. His jewellery is distinctive and well made with great attention to detail and quality.
Edouard Rambaud was famous for his use of hearts, suns, stars, fish and crosses in his designs. He made big bold statement pieces using lots of rolled gold. Rambaud was a designer who shaped his era.
Rambaud was a contempory of Christian Lacroix and they both created very unique and unusual designs that stood out very much in the 1980's.
