An early vintage , quite plain, Italian, silver, 800 standard, round and convex shaped little pill box. A small pretty little item which can still be used today for pills - the clasp closes securely. The piece was stamped for ' 800' but the '8' has been rubbed away - the piece , however, tested positively for 800 ! This looks perhaps to date from the 1920's or 1930's and is probably Italian. If so then it would doubtless date prior to 1934 when new official national marks were introduced. I do not think that this will be German as from the 1880's pieces would almost invariably carry the crescent and crown mark.
