A pair of German silver candlesticks, probably Kronstadt, mid 19th century and prior to 1868, shaped square bases and lobed baluster stems, each engraved with armorials below a baron's coronet, 750/1000 standard. The bases are weighted.
Each candlestick has a weight of 940g.

The small '12' mark is a German standard, for 12 loethige/lot or 75% pure silver. In the absence of any further marks it is impossible to be more precise as to where exactly they may have been made.
Condition : very good, a few small minor indentations to the uppermost rim. However , there are no visible signs of any repair work having been done. They are a very attractive pair mid 19th century silver candlesticks.
