A gold 10k fraternity ring with a red 'stone' which is , we think, a synthetic piece of spinel , although it could be real. There are two 'greenish' stripes on the face - probably inlaid mother of pearl. The head also has a raised shield and with the date 1957 individually numbered at each corner on black enamel. The ring's band is stamped " LGB" which, I believe , stands for Lloyd Garfield Balfour! It was inscribed in 1957 and belonged to a person with the initials C. M. The ring's head also contains on the raised shield the letters C ( I think ) and H and S ( a high school ? ). The piece was bought by us from a dealer in Munich , Germany many years ago. In prior years there was a large American Army base in Munich and this might explain how it came into our possession!
Size : ring's head : 1.5 cm. ( 0 19/32" ) x 1 cm. ( 0 25/64" ).

Weight : 6 g.
Condition : good - signs of normal usage/wear.
