On offer for sal is a beautiful quality, early needlework sampler dated 1803. Approximate dimensions 18 inches by 13 3/8 inches including the frame and 16 1/2 inches by 12 inches of the visible sampler. The condition is good for it's age with some discolorations and staining, but no more than you might expect for a piece which is 216 years old. Signed and dated in needlework (Mary Lewis 1803). There's a house with a pathway, with various animals, birds, plants, flowers and various plant containers. The outer border looks to be acorns. Comes with an appropriate vintage frame. There are no excuses which have to be made for this piece, it's been done to a very high standard of needlework skills. You also need to take into account that this work was done by a young girl back in the days when this type of work was required by young ladies of means as part of their education. I can't imagine anyone would be disappointed with this sampler, but as with all vintage pieces such as this you should not expect them to be perfect as they will show normal signs of age such as.
