On offer for sale is a beautiful vintage Victorian clock dating to circa 1890 era. It's made from slate with a Paris made French movement. It's in good running condition, and just needs to be wound once a week, which is why it is called an eight day clock. Keeps good time, within a few minutes a week. Strikes on the hour and half hour. Approximate dimensions 6 3/4 inches across the widest part by 5 inches deep and 7 5/8 inches tall. Usually these clocks are much larger in size, this is a very pretty looking clock. This is a very decorative little clock, which is quite heavy due to the materials it is made from. This clock is made from a natural stone and will show discolorations and other age blemishes which should be expected for a vintage piece like this and in my opinion just adds to the antique appeal. There are some small chips to the slate especially around the front right corner, but very minor in my opinion. There is a small chip to the enamel around the right side keyhole on the face which is very common for these old clocks. The back door to the clock has a quality bevelled glass door the same as the front. The clock is ready to be used in your home. Please remember this is a vintage item and will show normal signs of age such as blemishes, discolorations and usage marks.
