On offer for sale is a very handsome looking Victorian mantel clock dating to circa 1890. It's made from slate with marble accents, and a Paris made French brass movement. It's in good running order and just need to be wound once a week, which is why it is referred to as an eight day clock. Keeps good time, within five minutes a week. It's in good original condition, and as this is made from a natural stone will show normal discolorations and blemishes due to age. The clock has a natural aged patina which is my opinion is just how a vintage antique clock should look. There is an etched design decoration on the front. Approximate dimensions 7 5/8 inches across the widest part by 4 5/8 inches deep and 8 1/4 inches tall. Nice quality bevelled glass door. Very small chip to the slate at the base of the back (hardly worth mentioning) and some overall wear and usage marks, but nothing more than you would expect for a piece of this age. This is a lovely quality clock that is ready to be displayed and used in your home. This is a fairly heavy clock due to the materials it is made from.
