On offer for sale is a very good quality Victorian era, circa 1870 ladies vanity and jewelry box. Approximate dimensions 12 inches long by 9 inches wide and 5 inches high. The condition is good for it's age with some expected wear and usage marks. A few tiny spots on the lid along with a small age crack, and one of the interior glass containers is broken around the rim where the stopper fits. This is a beautiful quality box made from rosewood with brass edging all round and a brass name plate on the lid and escutcheon. I wouldn't do anything to this box, as I think it looks great just as it is with the aged patina on the brass. The interior has a lift out tray with more storage below, and there is a fold down section in the lid to house notelets or letters. The glass container with the broken top is the small one on the front right side. The two metal top containers were originally silver plate on copper, and this now has a nice worn finish showing the copper beneath. One of the little wooden lids has a missing knob. Overall this is a beautiful Victorian box which I feel sure you will not be disappointed with, but please bear in mind this is a vintage piece and it does have some age related imperfections. Please note, all images were taken outside in natural sunlight and there is some odd reflections showing on the interior pictures mainly to the little wooden lids, in real life these lids are a nice even color and not speckled.
