On offer for sale is a very good quality French, 8-day clock dating to circa 1890. It's in good running order and keeping good time, within five minutes a week. The clock is made from slate with marble decorations. The clock is quite heavy and substantial due to the slate and marble. French, Paris made 8-day brass movement, which means you just need to wind it once a week. Strikes on the hour and half hour with a beautiful and delicate sounding chime. The condition is good for it's age with a few very minor nicks to the slate, hardly worth mentioning and a little wear and small blemish on the top where something must have stood. Age and usage marks like this should ALWAYS be expected from a piece of this age. Approximate dimensions 11 3/4 inches long by 6 1/2 inches deep and 7 3/4 inches high. Bevelled glass doors front and back, and a porcelain dial. Comes with the key, and the clock is ready to be used in your home. I can't imagine how anyone could be disappointed in a quality clock like this.
