Fabulous dangling drop amethyst earrings from 1970's Modernist era!
These are fashioned from a good hard wearing silver metal alloy called 'alpaca silver'. This was quite a popular material with the poorer Mexican designers and there are many pieces still in excellent condition. A great funky design with a cut out circular top and three dangling bars each with two rough tumbled genuine amethyst beads. The central bar holds the cut out shape as a dangling dropper. A very simple but extremely effective idea. As often found in the 60's / 70's Modernist era, very clever use of geometric styling. Marked on the backs of the lower drops with ALPACA MEXICO. Full length including the sterling silver hook fittings is around 2 5/8 inches.
