Excellent bright blue Norwegian ,enamelled on silver, flower dropper earrings. C1940's/50's.
These are a delicious floral design in an unfaded bright blue guilloche enamel which has long been a popular Scandinavian jewellery medium. Clearly marked on the backs of the screw fittings with 830s ,which is the quality most used in Norway during the mid C20th, and a combination of H and T in an O surround. This is an early mark for the well known Norwegian silversmith Ottar Hval who had a workshop in Oslo. The enamelling inside and out of each of the 8 petals is virtually pristine and the original screw on fittings are still in good shape and very comfortable to wear.
Full length is approximately 5/8 inch. If you prefer longer drops, it would be a relatively simple matter to add maybe 1/2 inch fine linked silver chain to them!
Very collectible and such a pretty colour. Jazz up your jeans maybe?
Thanks for looking, hope you love them!
