Towle american sterling silver large berry/casserole spoon in the Clover pattern introduced in 1887. This outstanding serving spoon measures 9 inches long and weighs 2.50 troy ounces.
The bowl is engraved with four leaf clovers and flower buds. The four leaf clovers are repeated on the handle of the spoon. There is an "R" monogram toward the tip of the handle. The engraving on the back tip of the handle is April 24th, 89 (1889). This is a very special old sterling silver piece.
