Silver Plate Footed Tray with Handles Vintage Sheridan Co.
Vintage silverplated serving or butler's tray with heavily embossed handles, feet and top rim. The interior has a deep (about 3/4") scalloped rim and has a floral engraved design on the inner surface.
This is a rather unusual shape being rather narrow and would be great and elegant for serving tea or coffee, lunch, drinks, etc. or would work nicely as a vanity or bureau tray. Would look good in a Victorian style, cottage, or shabby chic decor.
This is a Victorian style revival piece with the mark of the Sheridan Silver Co of Taunton, MA, USA on the bottom which dates the tray from 1946 to 1973.
Length including handles -24 1/4".
Length without handles -19 1/2".
Width - 11".
Height - about 2" not including the handles which stand up about 2 1/2".
Condition: There is some wear, scratching, and tarnishing to the silver plating. A little of the brass under the silver plating is visible on the interior surface on the right side. There is one spot on the heavily embossed border where the finish has corroded, see it circled in the last photo. There are no deep scratches, dents or breaks.
