Antique original pencil drawing with monochrome brown watercolor painting of the English scene "View of Walton Bridge from Oatlands". It is possibly unfinished as there is pencil drawing visible in the middle where the bridge is. It is unsigned and titled along the bottom. There is a signature on the back which looks like it is in the same watercolor or ink as the drawing which reads: Lane? Walton. This might be done after a print. C.1840. Sheet size - trimmed somewhat unevenly - 12 3/4" x 8 3/4".
Image area not including title - 11 7/8" x 7 7/8".
Condition: The margins have been trimmed somewhat unevenly. It has an old crease in the center. There is staining and wear overall. There are some creases and tears in the borders the largest of which is about 3/4" and it does go into the image a little. The back of the sheet is stained. Guaranteed to be old and as described.
