Sapphire is often chosen as The One..... to which the answer is "I do" !!
On practical side sapphires are very hard wearing; on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness they score 9 - it is the hardest gemstone right after the diamond. This means they can be worn every day for decades withstanding the wear well.....very obviously an important consideration for an engagement ring. Spiritually they are the stone of infinite wisdom, prophecy, Divine favour and protection, favoured by royalty for centuries. In an engagement ring the sapphire symbolizes loyalty, faithfulness and trust, a perfect symbol of a couple's love. It is as classic as the diamond but rarer to see in an engagement ring.
This gorgeous Art Deco Continental engagement ring is crafted as a solitaire, with a mid-blue, fantastically lively natural sapphire. It is set in a six prong coronet setting, which has a scalloped under bezel. This is designed so that the solid, hardy part of the bezel would be in contact with the wedding band and the gemstone is positioned higher, with plenty of light hitting the stone and displaying it to the best advantage. The gemstone is 5.4 mm in diameter and estimated to be around 1.04 carats in weight. The ring is made in platinum, hallmarked with "Plat" and 0.950 for 95% platinum content. The shoulders, in wonderful Art Deco design feature five clean, white and bright single cut diamonds on each side, estimated to weigh 0.30 carats in total. The sapphire is set 7.1 mm off the top of your finger allowing for the wedding and eternity band to sit flush with the ring. The top of the ring is 21mm wide including the decorated shoulders and measures 8 mm north to south. The ring will look great with both white gold/platinum or a gold wedding band. It weighs 4.6 grams and is a size US 8 5/8, UK R at the moment and can be sized up or down. It is in a fantastic condition and will remain so for many decades to come.

We love ........ the incredible brightness of this lovely blue gem set so intricately in this Art Deco ring. We love the thoughtful design and how perfect it is for the everyday wear of an engagement ring; both platinum and sapphire are durable and guaranteed to stay looking fabulous for a very long time..... the answer will quite surely be a sparkling .....yes !!!
