Gate bracelets ....... their name is associated with gates to the English country houses of the Victorian era.......the charm of the old world and the times gone by personified. They were a romantic gift. Most had a gold padlock as a clasp and were made in 9 carat gold. Rarely you see them with the working key to the padlock ( to your sweetheart's heart :) and sometimes they can be found in 15 carat gold. Usually these are of superior quality. This bracelet is hallmarked with "15CT" on the inside of the clasp for 15 carat gold and is a fantastic find - not only is it 15 carat gold but the links are very unusual. There is also no padlock but a clasp, seamlessly worked into its design and hidden so that you do not notice it when you wear it. It is made in England around 1890 in wonderful, pinky rose gold. It is 7 inches long ( measured on the inside ) and weighs a substantial and comfortable 15.9 grams. It is 9.7 mm wide max ( or 0.38 inches ) and the links are 2.1 mm thick. The bracelet is beautifully articulated and lies perfectly on your wrist. It is elegant, smooth and sleek and so very traditional yet contemporary in it's look. It is in great antique condition and the clasp functions very well with a nice, tight snap. It has a safety chain in matching colour gold for extra assurance while it is worn.

We love .... the antique charm and contemporary elegance of this gorgeous bracelet. It has the easy air of a timeless treasure to enjoy wearing day and night without having to worry about damaging it. It will mix well with other jewellery, either in yellow or rose gold, or even silver. You will love it.... every day .... :)
