We are just loving this World War I era 18 carat gold chunky orange blossom and ivy leaf wedding band ring dated 1918!!

Orange blossoms symbolise virtue and innocence whilst ivy leaves symbolise loyalty and say 'I cling to thee'.......The romantic symbolism of it is all the charm in the world. The real beauty though lies in the history of this ring. We will never know who owned it as there is no inscription ... but...... the couple who had this ring made, or bought from a shop catalogue of the time, did this in the last year of the First World War. Perhaps he was going off to war and the loved up couple wanted to make that forever bond knowing it may be shattered during his time out on the field... Or maybe he had just come back?! Alive!!! How rare and incredibly lucky..And they were so delighted and relieved that they excitedly and quickly tied that knot of love?! She is fully hallmarked with a London hallmark and the C date letter for 1918. She is 0.32 inches wide and sits 1.6 mm off the finger, nice and flush despite being luxuriously weighty at 9.1 grams. You will always be reminded that you are married wearing her :) She measures as a US size 6.5 (UK N) on the ring stick but this not the case in reality as she is a wide band. Her inner diameter is 17.07 mm and from trying her on she is more of a US 5 3/8-5.5 (UK K 1/2 -L size). She feels good on my 5 1/8 (K) finger too! Just a bit looser and cannot be sized at all I'm afraid. Her condition as you see if just lovely... of course very slightly rubbed on the carving as is expected for her age but barely so and someone has scratched a letter near the hallmarks inside the band - nothing to worry about, this cannot be seen when worn! Of course this beauty can be used as a stacking ring and would look particularly lovely with some slim diamond eternity rings !

We love ......... this wedding band full of meaning and feelings from a hundred years ago ! We love the happiness it holds, the love and the end of a long war....... Who wants to treasure this darling's history we wonder?
