We just love this ring !! It is so fine and pretty with vivid gemstones twinkling happily away !! Just like a crisp and sunny day sometime in 1919, when it was made in Birmingham, England. The Great War was over and it was life back to a long awaited normal.......And a young man picked this ring for his love to ask if she would marry him......she must have said Yes !! The ring is designed in a traditional Edwardian, turn of the century style even though Art Deco was around the corner. No wonder, that young man was probably thinking traditional, timeless and forever, not some new faddy fashion :) If he only knew..... The ring it is fully hallmarked. It is fashioned as a cluster, with a gorgeous natural blue round sapphire in it's centre and surrounded by eight lovely old cut diamonds. The cluster is flanked with one sapphire on each shoulder, making for a lovely design. The centre sapphire measures 3.23mm in diameter while the side ones are 2.74 each. The lovely old cut diamonds are estimated to weigh 0.24 carats. The ring is hallmarked with Birmingham 18 for 18 carat gold, and it is of a soft, light yellow colour. It weighs 3.7 grams and is size US 6 1/4 , UK M 1/2. It can be sized up or down a few sizes. It is in wonderful condition with the absolutely faintest ( and I am being very picky here ) of abrasions on the facets of the centre sapphire.
The stunning colours, the super quality, the beautiful timeless design............the best of fine traditions, to keep as a heirloom forever......
