We are pleased to offer for sale this gorgeous, sparkly double pendant made in Georgian England around 1800.
The pendant is made in silver ( acid tested ) and set with with beautiful black dot paste stones. Antique paste is glass cut to emulate the table cut diamonds, with large culets at the bottom of them which appear as black dots….highly sought after by Georgian paste lovers. All are original and foil set, with a couple at the top displaying a very slight discolouration, only actually noticeable in the bright flash of our camera. They look white and evenly coloured in real life. The pastes are so large and chunky and look like old cut diamonds……scrumptious !!
The pendant is a great wearable size of 1.25 x 1.28 inches. It weighs 7.8 grams, superbly comfortable with a rounded back - the Georgian masters really knew how to make a piece of jewellery ! Imagine it nestling gently against your throat, because the back is rounded it won't turn.
Being over 200 years old our pendant is surprisingly easily wearable today, please do take a look at our photos. It is so versatile……!! It splits into two parts so you can wear it as one large pendant or separate it and wear just the top or the bottom, they both have a hook at the top. You can also very easily change the entire look of the piece by hanging our sparkly pastes off a gold chain…..or a silver chain……or different colour lace ribbon …….or satin…..or velvet…... Just imagine how very different it will look on pale pink or black? Possibilities are just endless. We hope you will have lots of fun dressing it up and dressing it down…….so Georgian…….and so now !!
