Antique jewellery can be such beautiful fun ! Just look at this sweetest, cuddliest kitten, totally absorbed, playing with his pearl ball with his fierce little kitty look on his face ! We are smitten !!

This gorgeous kitty is Victorian and dates from around 1880. She is made in 18 karat buttery yellow gold and started her fun life as a brooch. We took the brooch fitting off and used her pin to make her bale. She is solid and heavy - 7.7 grams - and feels weighty and precious in your hand, a gorgeous chunk of solid gold delight !! She is soooo good looking - beautifully modelled with lovely chasing looking realistically like soft, fluffy coat - you just want to stroke her !

She is not hallmarked and has been professionally tested to confirm that she is 18 karat gold. Miss kitty measures 18.45 mm north to south and 24.65 mm side to side. Her total length with the jumping is 24.75 mm. Her toy is a lovely, light cream, velvety pearl which looks to be salt water natural, though we did not have her x-rayed to confirm this. She is in a fantastic antique condition.

We are so in love......with this feisty, fun, playing kitten. She is full of character, beautifully executed and humorously caught mid-play by a clever jeweller. Meowwwwww !
