This pretty opal charm dates from around 1900-1910.

It is not hallmarked so we tested the metal content and it is 14 karat gold. The bale added at the top is matching yellow 9 karat gold. This larger bale allows for it to be worn on thicker chains and the dog clips of your Albert chains. The lovely natural opal is of Australian origin and displays a gentle play of colours; predominantly greens as well as yellow and blue with undertones of orange and pink. The opal is estimated to weigh 0.63 carats. It measures 8.17 by 6.61 in its bezel closed backed setting and is 14.42 mm long including the bale. Both the opal and the charm are in great antique condition.

Opal is an October Birthstone and 24th wedding anniversary gift.
