Absolutely breathtaking Choker/Necklace designed by Alfred Philippe for TRIFARI in 1945. Consisting of solid Sterling Silver with a double row of faceted open-back ruby oval glass stones and crystal rhinestones trailing down the center. This beauty caresses the neckline perfectly and terminates with a fold-over clasp that 'disappears' into the design, giving a truly fluid appearance, not to mention that it could pass for the real deal. The gems have the most luscious pinky/red color to them, just like genuine rubies.
This beauty is featured in advertisements for Trifari (see the photo of the Harper's Bazaar advert from Feb, 1946), and many books, including Brunialti's American Costume Jewelry, Vol 2 (see photo), as well as the cover of The Great Pretenders by Kelly and Schiffer.
This is a MUST HAVE for the discriminating collector.
