(Brunialti American Costume Jewelry Volume 1 - Page 39 - variant shown without necklace - 4 star rarity - see photo of page below)
This MASTERPIECE is from a chicago-based company,
Fred A. Block, Inc.
who had their jewelry designed in part or entirely by Sandor
Their pieces are few in the marketplace, rare to find and all stunning
This "AZTEC MASK" was made in 1942 and consists of molded tinted lucite, emerald glass hi-dome cabochons and rhodium plating, depicting an Aztec Warrior complete with elaborate headdress and adorned with a dangling necklace
Features a dual prong Pin Clip on reverse
Measures 4” L x 2.9” W
Hallmarked “FRED A. BLOCK ORIGINALS”
Excellent condition - All fabulous. No issues to report. A gorgeous patina has developed. Of course, can be polished off but I would never remove as I feel it adds to the character of the piece. Clip works perfectly and holds firmly.
